I was looking back at these images from last autumn. Melissa was hoping we could find a nice aspen grove to photograph her family in. We went to two locations and had a blast! Her twin boys were hilarious and so much fun to work with. I’m happy to say that we will be working together again this summer. This time she has requested wild flowers as the background. I can’t wait to take them to more of my favorite locations!
Family Portrait Photographer
Leisa Gibson is a modern and creative family portrait photographer based in Breckenridge & Edwards, Colorado, serving all of Summit County and the Vail Valley.
Leisa specializes in the family portraits, large and small. Her love of capturing these fun moments for families shows in the images she creates. She is known for her unique posing of kids with their parents and for treating clients like she would want her own family to be treated - with kindness, patience & respect.
Family portrait photography, senior portraits, engagements & elopements in the mountains. Leisa works on location or travels to your home or rented home. She does use lighting for some photos when the bright, snowy backgrounds demand it, but she also loves to use natural light and produces an impressive combination of posed and candid images from each session.
She books up quickly because she only schedules portrait sessions when the light is the best which means only twice a day; either in the morning or in the afternoon.
Please see her portfolio below and check out her blog to see some fun recent sneak peeks from sessions.

Mother & Daughter Portrait Session
You will never regret taking the time for a portrait session with just you and your child. Kristin wanted some new photos of herself for her website and then decided to do a few with her daughter as well. We ended up with some nice individual photos of both of them as well as some adorable images of the two of them together. We had a lot of fun with the photography and accomplished it all right in their back yard. This session has actually inspired me, the photographer, to hire someone else to photograph me with my daughter! I really do not want to let another year go by without having some great images made of us together! Thanks Kristin for the fun day and the inspiration to arrange my own Mother/Daughter photo session.
A Breckenridge Ski Vacation at the Big Sky Ranch
The Big Sky Ranch remains one of my all time favorite rental homes in Breckenridge. It is a very large, well designed home that is also very comfortable and welcomes children and dogs. The view of the Ten Mile Range and Breckenridge Ski Resort is stunning. So, when Antonette called to ask if I would photograph three families who were staying at the house, I gladly accepted. They all had ideas of the look they were going for, which was great! Antonette’s family wanted to wear ski gear and recreate some fun family photos they had done in the past, complete with skis and boards as props. We all had a ton of fun and were rewarded with an epic, sunny day for the photography.
A Family Portrait in Breckenridge
Lynda called to say that she was going to be in Breckenridge with her family and asked if I would take not only some new portraits of her family, but some individual portraits of her. She proudly announced that she was turning fifty and said she would like some new portraits of herself taken on her birthday. She also plans to write a blog about being fifty and wants to use the images for that website as well. I met the Oliver family at One Ski Hill Place and drove them to a nearby, outdoor location for the photography. I was a bit worried because when I left my house, it was -15 degrees. However, by the time we were ready to shoot, it had warmed up to a balmy 10 degrees. They did an amazing job of looking fairly warm on such a cool morning!
A Family Portrait near Copper Mountain
Chrissy called to say that her family would be staying at Copper Mountain and asked if I would find the perfect, outdoor location for a portrait session. They have never had any family portraits taken and she was very excited about this. Chrissy did mention that she wanted a view of the mountains, some aspen trees and preferably some water in the images. I am happy to say that I managed to incorporate all of these requests into one really fun photo shoot.
